We went swimming today at an indoor municipal pool in Turku. It's a huge facility with floor-to-ceiling windows in some areas that look out onto a forest. While we were in the pool, it started snowing. So there we were in our swimsuits, enjoying the water, and looking out at a snowy forest.
It was the opposite of Ski Dubai, in other words. There, you can go skiing in a fabricated snowy forest and then step outside into sunny t-shirt weather.
If the contrast was too much for anyone at the swimming hall today, they could have alleviated it by swimming in 4C water - there is a small pool of it there. I dipped my toes in and that was enough for me.
