Bake sale-ready
Magdalena is on the student council at school, and today they are selling extra treats in the cafe. I said I'd bake some cookies, and got around to actually doing it last night. It was my first time baking cookies in this oven (since we moved) and the first batch turned out...not great.
I adjusted the temperature and timing and cookie placement and got better results on subsequent batches, and Magdalena was ready for the bake sale this morning! We wrote the ingredients on a notecard to display at the bake sale so people with allergies could look out for problem items. Is that a thing in the US? It certainly wasn't in the UAE. In Finland, lactose-intolerance is very common (like, genetically, I think). There are also people who can't/don't drink milk, or eat gluten. The suffix for "-free" in Finnish is "-ton," which is one of the first words I learned here: laktoositon, maidoton, gluteeniton - it's fun to say!
